Bayanihan Multicultural Fiesta, on Harmony Day Sunday 21 March 2010

Where:  Myuna Farm, 182 Kidds Road, Doveton VIC 3177

When:  10am to 4pm

Bayanihan is a Filipino word that refers to “communal effort, volunteers working together for the same goal”.

The Bayanihan Multicultural Fiesta is a joint community event organised by volunteer organisations from the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities of Filipino, Cambodia, Liberia and Tonga in partnership with Ethnic Communities Council of South East, Doveton Eumemmering Neighbourhood Renewal Program and supported by Myuna Farm.

The Fiesta is about community sharing, the environment, families, food and fun!  Cultural performers include the unique Filipino bamboo music, folk dances, Polynesian dances, Liberian drums and hip-hop crews.  Marine photographer Freddie Leong will showcase the magnificent sea creatures of the Mornington Peninsula, and Aquaculturist John Mosig will introduce us to sustainable fish farming.  Community and health services will have stalls with information and freebies.  Join in the community dancing and the best karaoke singers will win prizes!
